Герундий после выражений



Есть некоторые выражения, за которыми следует только герундий, не инфинитив.


(be) busy She said she couldn't see me. She was too busy doing other things.
be used to He is used to living alone.
get used to You'll get used to speaking correctly.
have (some) problems He had some problems reading without his glasses.
have a difficult time He had a difficult time riding bicycle against strong wind.
have a good time They had a good time snorkeling.
have a hard time She had a hard time trying to explain the situation she happened to be.
have a problem Debbie had a problem understanding his accent.
have an easy time She had an easy time travelling with a rock band across Europe.
have (no) difficulty Peter had no difficulty getting a visa.
have fun They had fun skiing.
have no problem Alex had no problem driving his car in spite of snowfall.
It's no good It's no good trying to persuade me. You won't succeed.
It's no use There's nothing you can do about the situation, so it's no use worrying about it.
It's (not) worth It's worth considering one more proof of this fact.
spend one's time Bill does not like to spend his time in the store.
there's no point in There's no point in having a car if you never use it.
a waste of money It's a waste of money buying things you don't need.
a waste of time It was a waste of time arguing with her.
waste one's time Inessa always wastes her time watching TV.

После глаголов see, hear, smell и т.д. вы также можете использовать герундий, но здесь он имеет значение continious, вы ничего не можете сказать о завершенном действии.
I saw him walking along the street.
I've seen her last sitting at the bus stop.
Can you smell something burning?
Listen to the birds singing!
Чтобы сказать о завершенном действии используйте инфинитив без to:
I saw him break the window.
I didn't hear you come in.
Did you notice anyone go out?
